About the classes
KMC’s meditation classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators. People from all walks of life attend our classes – young and old, religious and atheist. Some simply want to learn how to meditate, and these classes are perfect for this purpose. Others want to learn more about Buddhism, and the classes are perfect for this too. Everyone is welcome!
Classes run for an hour to an hour and a half, check the location to see what is offered. We meditate sitting on chairs to ensure that everyone is comfortable, cushions are available at our main center if desired. There is no physical exercise involved.
The general structure of the class:
- A brief introduction
- Simple guided breathing meditation of approximately 15 minutes
- Practical teaching on how to solve problems in daily life
- Brief discussion or Q & A
- Second guided meditation on the teaching topic or another breathing meditation
After the class everyone is welcome to stay after for conversation and in some locations for light refreshments as well.
Attending the class
The classes are organized as short courses, usually 4-6 weeks long. You can attend the whole course or simply drop in whenever you can, as each class is self-contained. You do not need to reserve a spot in advance, simply find a meditation class near you and pay when you arrive. If you would like more information or help, please contact us.
