A Bodhisattva is someone who is determined to attain enlightenment in order to fulfill his or her compassionate wish to free everyone from suffering.
This afternoon’s teaching and ceremony will help us to become a friend of the world by learning to practice the Six Perfections (the perfections of giving/generosity, moral discipline, patience, effort, mental stabilization/concentration, and wisdom) in our daily life. Gen Chogden will explain and give the Bodhisattva Vows, which provide the foundation for nurturing this altruistic and inspiring way of life.
Cost: Free. Donations are appreciated.
It is traditional to bring an offering of food, flowers, lights and so forth when these Vows are offered.
