Buddhism for Kids classes offer a simple introduction to Buddha’s teachings, emphasizing kindness, respect for others and keeping a happy heart. Children, ages 5 to 11, will learn the importance of loving everyone, being generous, and what to do when they have angry, worried, or unhappy states of minds.
Children under 5 are welcome to attend but we ask that a parent stay in the Buddhism for Families Class with his or her child if the child is under the age of 5.
No need to pre-register, just drop in. Each class includes a prayer, short teaching, two short meditations, and a craft project that explores the spiritual theme of the teaching. Both children and adults can join in for the delicious brunch at 11:45 AM.
Where: World Peace Temple, 900 East Northern Parkway, Baltimore 21212
Cost: Suggested donation $2 per child to help with supplies.
Prayers for World Peace, a class for adults, happens at the same time on Sundays at 10:30am – 11:45am.
