Refuge & Bodhisattva Vows and Teachings with Gen Kelsang Chogden

The practice of Refuge characterizes the Buddhist way of life and is the foundation for all spiritual realizations. By going for refuge to Buddha, Dharma and Sangha we make a decision to make effort to receive Buddha’s blessings, put Dharma into practice in our daily life, and sincerely rely upon the community of pure spiritual practitioners, thus firmly placing our feet on the path to the blissful inner peace of enlightenment.  By taking Bodhisattva Vows we enter the Mahayana and commit ourselves to practicing the six perfections, the actual path to enlightenment.

Gen Chogden will explain the benefits Buddhist refuge and the Bodhisattva Vows, followed by a Refuge and Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony in which participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their connection to the Buddhist path.

It is traditional to bring some small offerings of food, flowers, etc.
