Tuesdays In Columbia


This meditation class in Columbia is held at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center, a friendly and welcoming space that is centrally located in the town of Columbia. We meet in room 400 which is easily accessible after entering the building. 

Learning to Love Your Difficult People – The weeks of February 12 through March 12

The most common object of our worry and irritation is our family, friends and co-workers.  We  suffer a lot as we feel our relationships are rocky and unpredictable.  In this series we will look at ways Buddha taught to reduce the pain we feel about relationships and how transform them into ways to develop patience, love and compassion.

Anger Solves Nothing – The weeks of Mar 19 through Apr 16

Anger has no function other than to cause us harm. It makes our mind rough and uncontrolled, robs us of our happiness, and disturbs others. Even the small anger of impatience and annoyance destroys our peace of mind and creates stress in our lives. This series will help us to learn how to recognize, reduce, and even eliminate anger from our mind.

rickTeacher: Rick Ratigan  is a longtime member of KMC-MD and has contributed greatly to the community over the past 16 years. He is retired from the State of Maryland with a background in Social Services. He is a sincere meditator and Dharma practitioner and is well liked for his compassion and good sense of humor. Rick’s classes are down-to-earth and practical.
