Overcoming Impatience, Irritability & Anger Meditation Retreat, Sat. Nov 23, 2019 10am-5pm

Impatience, irritability and anger rob us of our peace of mind and happiness. When we feel impatient or irritable, we usually become impulsive, fussing and making mistakes in our relationships and our actions. Patience is a mind that, with consistent effort,  anyone can learn to develop. When we learn to practice patience, we can overcome these painful and destructive emotions more and more each day.

Full Day Cost: $45– or $35 for early registration (by Nov 16), students, seniors 60+, and unemployed.- Lunch included (lunch availability only guaranteed for those who have pre-registered by Oct 5).

Morning Only (Part 1) Cost: $25– or $20 for early registration (by Nov 16), students, seniors 60+, and unemployed.- Does not include lunch, but you can purchase lunch in our World Peace Café, as availability allows.

Free for members at Student-Level and Benefactor-Level 

Registration:  Walk-ins are welcome.  Online registration has now closed.  We can only guarantee lunch to those who have pre-registered online (although we may have additional lunches available on a first come first served basis for walk-ins)

Gen Kelsang Chogden, an American Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland, will teach this meditation retreat. Gen Chogden has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 21 years under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, who gave her the title “Gen” indicating that she is a senior ordained teacher of the Kadampa Tradition.

Gen Chogden’s compassionate activities of teaching, guiding, and inspiring those around her are the result of her deep faith, clear wisdom, and heartfelt concern for others that brings true sincerity and humility to her life as a spiritual teacher.

Her teachings are always practical and easy to apply to everyday life. Through her gentle and joyful approach and her peaceful example, she has helped many people find true happiness in their hearts.
