Live-Streamed Kids Meditation Class

Every Friday @ 10am – 10:30am during the Summer
June 5, 12, 19, 26 | July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 | and Aug 7

These 30 minute live-streamed meditation classes for kids offer a simple introduction to meditation and Buddha’s teachings, emphasizing kindness, respect for others and keeping a happy heart. Children, ages 5 to 11, will learn basic social and emotional skills such as the importance of loving everyone, being generous, and what to do when they have angry, worried, or unhappy states of minds. Each class includes a prayer, short teaching, two short meditations, and discussion, all exploring the spiritual theme of the teaching.

While this class is designed for children, parents are welcome to come along! When you register, please note the age of your child so that the teacher can better tailor age-appropriate lessons.

Please sign-up *no later than* 1 hour before the class. When you register, you will be emailed a confirmation email, and a zoom webinar link. You will use that zoom link to attend the class.

About the Teacher: Ms. Monica Heiser is a student and teacher at KMC Maryland who has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for the past 12 years. She is a Baltimore City art teacher and loves to work with kids to help them develop their boundless potential and encourage their joy. She deeply believes in the power of mindfulness and meditation as effective tools for everyone to find deeper peace and meaning in their lives, regardless of their age!”
