Walk for Peace, Sat., May 5th, 10am – 1:30pm

Join us for an energizing 4.5-mile* hike through one of the Baltimore area’s beautiful parks. At the same time help raise money for the KMC-MD temple and the International Temples Project.

Registration has now closed– the event is now filled to the maximum number of people allowed by the State Park.  Please feel free to sponsor a participant or make a donation though to support the event!

Either gather sponsors or pay a registration fee of $25. The walk will end with a delicious picnic and guided meditation dedicated to World Peace. Last year we raised over $1000. Our goal with this event is to raise $2000. Help us cross the finish line!

Participants gather sponsors or pay $25/person.

Location:
Picnic Shelter 245
Patapsco Valley State Park – Hilton Area
1101 Hilton Avenue
Catonsville MD 21228

*There is also a shorter 1.5 mile hiking route option for those who cannot complete a 4.5 mile route.

Details:

To enter the Hilton area, there is a small fee of $3 per person.

There is a one-way loop through the park, and once you are on this loop, take your first right into the parking area.  Our picnic shelter is straight ahead:  shelter 245.

Parking:  There is limited parking on Saturdays so we recommend carpooling and getting there early (9 or 9:30am) to find a spot.  If the lot in front of our picnic shelter is full, there is another parking lot about halfway around the loop.

Dogs are allowed if they are on leash.  There is a nice playground in the park also.

Bring a snack and a water bottle with you during the hike, and wear sturdy shoes– the hike will take almost 2 hours to complete.
