Join us for an energizing 3-mile* hike through the beautiful McKeldin area of Patapsco Valley State Park. At the same time, help raise money for the Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland World Peace Temple and the International Temples Project.

You can either gather sponsors or pay a registration fee of $30. Free Peace t-shirts to everyone who gets $100 or more in donations!  The day will include a guided meditation dedicated to world peace and will end with a delicious picnic lunch. Last time we raised over $1100. Our goal with this event is to raise $2000. Help us cross the finish line!

Location: McKeldin Area of Patapsco Valley State Park

11676 Marriottsville Road, Marriottsville MD 21104.

This is about a 35 min from KMC MD.

Pre-registration is required. Click here to register.

(please RSVP to let us know you are coming, and turn in your raised funds before the day of the walk since the park does not allow money to change hands on park grounds).

To make a one-time donation click here.

*There will also be a shorter hiking route option (approximately 1.5 miles long) for those who cannot complete the full route.

Details including Parking: When you enter the park area, there is a toll booth and there is a charge of $3/person. You can park in the lot straight ahead from the toll booth, or else take the loop and circle around to our picnic shelter 512,  which is about ¾ of the way around the loop, and is next to the playground that’s near the entrance. Just meet us at picnic shelter 512 by 10am at latest so you don’t miss the hike.

Directions: Cell/data service seems good for the whole drive.

Dogs are allowed if on a leash.

Bring a snack and a water bottle with you during the hike – it could take about 2 hours to complete.

Wear sturdy shoes that grip (hiking boots are best), because these are dirt trails.
