The enlightened mind is said to be like a boundless deep ocean, every drop of which has the power to bring inner peace to living beings. Receiving an empowerment is like connecting with this ocean-like potential inside our own mind, giving us the courage and wisdom to begin to realize our own Buddha nature.
This retreat will be lead by Western Buddhist Nun, Gen Kelsang Chogden and Western Buddhist Monk, Gen Kelsang Wangden. At this retreat, people from VA, MD, PA, NJ, etc. will be gathering to enjoy meditation and visiting with each other in this relaxed country setting.
The life we wish to have and the world we wish to experience are created upon the foundation of faith and reason. Having a mind of faith is like having pure eyes that can see a pure and perfect world beyond the ordinary life we normally experience.
This is a fun day where we all come together and help clean and maintain our beautiful Temple. We will have both outdoor and indoor work, cleaning, and things to do for people of all skills and abilities. Come for the whole time, or as long as you are free. Snacks will be provided for helpers. Everyone is welcome!
