Join us to bring peace to our world through the action of meditating together and dedicating our prayers for world peace. The morning includes a guided meditation, talk on Buddhism applied to daily life & a traditional chanted prayer in English.
Everyone is welcome!
Take a break and de-stress from the pressure of your day so you can return refreshed and nourished. We all have much more to give in a peaceful way when we’ve first taken care of ourselves.
Every Friday @ 10am – 10:30am during the Summer
June 5, 12, 19, 26 | July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 | and Aug 7
These 30 minute live-streamed meditation classes for kids offer a simple introduction to meditation and Buddha’s teachings, emphasizing kindness, respect for others and keeping a happy heart. Children, ages 5 to 11, will learn basic social and emotional skills such as the importance of loving everyone, being generous, and what to do when they have angry, worried, or unhappy states of minds.
Live-streamed on Thursdays at 10 – 11am. Are you a teenager interested in meditation, mindfulness, or Buddhism? This class will explore basic meditations and Buddhist advice that you can apply in your life to find deeper peace and connection with others.
Life is too short and relationships are too precious to hold on to resentments where we blame others for feeling harmed when something went wrong. Blaming oneself for past mistakes over and over again results in intense guilt and shame that robs us of the opportunity to be happy in the present.
One of the best methods to increase our faith in the Buddhas and to receive their blessings is to gaze at an image of Buddha again and again. This naturally takes place as we learn to draw Buddha, and we create the good fortune to increase our ability to visualize Buddha during meditation.
Selected Saturdays (June 27, and Aug 29) at 2pm – 3:30pm
Available Via Livestream only currently

A Café Dedicated to Peace
World Peace Cafes are grassroots developments initiated by Kadampa Buddhist communities around the world. All the cafes are bound by the same purpose- to help increase peace in the world. All profits are given to the International Temples Project, a Kadampa Buddhist project dedicated to world peace. That’s why we’re called the ‘World Peace Café!’
Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland is a Temple dedicated to bringing peace and happiness to the world, and to removing suffering, through offering the methods of meditation and modern Buddhism.
