The Mid-Atlantic Dharma Celebration is a very special annual event that connects practitioners around the Mid-Atlantic region. This incredible weekend of practical teachings, powerful meditations, and energizing empowerment is an event not to be missed.
Everyone is welcome to join us for this community potluck, where you can get to know those you see at the Temple in an informal setting. Bring your favorite vegetarian dish to share.

This retreat, over the MLK Jr. holiday weekend, will help us to deeply relax and recharge our spiritual batteries. It is suitable for everyone from beginners to those who are more experienced. For beginners, you will learn something that could change your life, and for those with more experience, you will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding and experience of meditation.
A wrist mala is a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations and prostrations. For Buddhist practitioners, a mala is a precious and meaningful sacred object.
Talk and Meditation 7-7:30pm, followed by a party, then Avalokiteshvara prayers from 9 – 9:30pm at KMC-MD
Enjoy a meaningful and festive New Year’s Eve celebration in this joyful community! The evening begins with a short talk with a guided meditation entitled “Living with Joy”, where we can listen to Buddhist wisdom on living life with a positive outlook and peace of mind.
Start your year off right! Give yourself the treat of developing mental peace and relaxation to fortify yourself for the New Year. Refresh your body and your mind with guided meditations and a day of silence. Then enjoy a healthy vegetarian lunch in the World Peace Café, followed by two more nurturing meditations. Participants will remain silent, while the retreat teacher will guide the meditations and give practical instructions on how to nourish our mind and body in each of the 3 sessions.
