Heart Jewel Prayers to Je Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden are the heart essence of Kadampa Buddhism and many Kadampas do these prayers as part of their daily practice. Therefore we are offering the prayers here for you to use at your convenience (just click play on the video below).
The purpose of doing ‘powa’, or transference of consciousness, is to lead countless deceased beings to the Pure Land of a Buddha.
When asked recently how we can best help the world at this time, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche advised us to pray to Tara.
Traditionally in the Kadampa tradition, we chant “Liberation from Sorrow” (Green Tara Prayers) on the 8th of each month.
We are offering these prayers for you to watch on the 8th or any time you want to pray for your welfare or the welfare of others.
